New Assault Map

Ratburger and team have been working on a new Assault Map, he wants everyone to play it and give him some feedback. The map is called AS-Zeppelinb1 (b1=beta1) There is no bot support at the moment, other than they hang around the defense points. Pressing F3 will give you all the objectives you need.

From the readme file;
"Game Info: This is the first beta version intended for testing by players preferably on a public server. The bot pathing has not been completed so don't expect bots to complete objectives but the defending bots do a decent job. The objectives are to place charges on all 4 engines and when the engines are destroyed, the final charge must be set off in the gondola cockpit. The charges are a new design that can be set for various times. In this version they are all set to 5 seconds and they can be diffused by defenders if touched before they explode. Also of note, the interior of the Zeppelin is set for low-grav. Check out the F3 info for other details. All Feed back is welcome!"

There aren't many mappers for Assault anymore and we need to support Rat and his team by giving constructive criticism. Send as many people as you can to test the map and give feedback.

I'm hosting the map on my server, and setup some forums for people to give feedback on. Please give it a try, and let him know what you think...

I ran through it a few times and I see good times ahead :D I can't wait to spam rox/grenades down that sewer/tunnel and onto Denial :P Thanks for the DL de!

Tried it out earlier but my packet loss was too much. What I did get to play was pretty cool. I also thought Overlord ][ was really neat.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive…” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming: “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?”

i like all the mods on de's server except stranglove always causes my game to crash

zepplin is a good map though :D

Very nice DOS Junkie. I horked up a furball when I read that one.

Anyway- The BSP problem on the stairs has been fixed as well as some texture details. Still working on the problem of the engine charge messages showing up too soon and there should be a delay for the last one in the gondola. Please everyone let me know if you have any more suggestions!

If you go through the underground tunnel there's rox, boots, armor and a keg.

BTW I can't wait to play this map with actual people :D
