mp3 players?

Hey all,

I just got a Creative Zen Vison-M 30gb and wanted to know what others use.

Going on my 3rd day with the Vision-M I kindof find it a little cumbersome to use. I have a MD disk player which I can control in my pocket, ie play, rew, ff, etc, without even looking at it.

Also, Pink Flyod's "The Wall" hesitates between songs that run together. This doesn't happen on my MD disk player. Other songs from other CDs that "run together" don't exhibit this problem on the Vison-M....just The Wall.

Anybody using the Vision-M? Do you like it?

Yeah I have a 30 GB iPod Photo.

I plan on upgrading to a touchscreen video iPod when/if they release it.

I use a lexar jumpdrive mp3 player, its not that greatest but its nice to be able to use a thumbdrive as my media source.

I want something like the Ipod nano that also does video, think something like that will be availble soon :D

I think your player may have a pause between songs if it shuts down the hd to save battery power and doesnt spin up the hd early enough to avoid a delay when the first song ends. There may also be some sort of gapless play feature on your mp3 player you need to enable (speculation).

Megor is right, the hard disks designed for these types of players shut down between accesses to save power. That's how the battery can last so long.

Normally, the disk is fast enough to turn on, get the data, and then turn off again before any interruption happens. However, if you have a graphic equalizer running or a crossfade between songs, the added processing requirements for those (because they are usually handled in software) in conjunction with the hard disk spinning up can lead to gaps or pauses between or during songs. The recommented solution is to turn off equalization and crossfades and use the equalizer in an external amplifier

Another possibility is that it is just the vision M player. I had an RCA MP3 disk player and it would not run songs together. There was always a gap between them.

My MD disk player also shuts down but does not "hesitate". This has only happened on "The Wall". Other CDs which have songs that run into each other have not exhibited this problem. Maybe its just something that exists during the mastering of "The Wall".

Also, the M-Vision states up to 14 hours of battery life but I only get 13.5 hours. Huh, must be defective! RIPOFF!
ehhehehehehee

Also, I don't have any porn on my player
I do have a video of a cat grabbing something hooked to ceiling fan and the cat flies around the room. Very funny. (Sorry Megor & Larry)

Whoops. Spoke too soon. A live Rush disk does it too. Oh well.

See there is the problem. Mp3s are from the internet, without porn to sustain them they start to skip.

Yup.

It'd be great if I just left my post at "yup" but that's even too lame for me. I'm much too hardcore for those sorts of things as it is. Hurrah for me! Hurrah for Smantie! Seriously though, I even made worthwhile posts in my own Rage Against the Machine thread. Aren't I great?
