Schumacher directed the previous 2 Batman's. He's the one who had CO's govonor' yelling "NOT THE COOLAH!!!!!!!!".   That was considered by many, the moment the Bat-franchise ceased to have a pulse. I've been hearing good things about the new one though. Fantastic Four looks decent as well. (any F4 movie would look good after seeing a leaked copy of the unreleased 1994 version)   That shit was so lame.....

That looks like it has a lot of potential to be bad. I want to see Sin City though. Jessica Alba is hot.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive…” And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming: “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?”

excerpt from review wrote:Overall, I would recommend this film, but not to casual movie-goers. This is very much a movie-phile experience for those who appreciate character development and cinematography as much as plot points and a storyline that can be defined and followed from one action to the next. In that way it is closer to films like Magnolia or the Others, where the apex is the characters. If you are looking for a typical popcorn Hollywood thriller, this is not what you are looking for.
....in other words, if u r a movie idiot don't watch this.

this is one of my favorites, also another "smart" movie:

excerpt from review wrote:Every day you can go look into the paper and look at the films that are playing and say to yourself, seen it, seen it, oh, seen it last year, that is the same as this film and that is the same as that film. Most films have been recycled in some form or another. Not the Coen's films. They have not been recycled and if they have I don't know about it. That is reason enough to see something that they put out. Originality counts for a lot in my books. The Coens are original and they are good. And that is not common in todays cinema. Enjoy them while they are allowed to make films. Because you don't get vision like this in many films, so when you do, enjoy it!

I was reading about how Christian Bale had to put on 100lbs to go from The Machinist to Batman Begins characters. That's gotta be pretty tough.

Saw Batman Begins today and I liked it. It was really neat how they explained everything.

I just saw Y tu mama tambien. That was really good. I've seen a lot of foreign movies. They are always so much better than the Hollywood just putting it out for a quick buck.

Fortress - This is not the same 1993 Fortress starring Christopher Lambert. However, it is equally as bad and hilarious. I didn't see the first 15 minutes or so, but apparently four men equipped with character masks, AK47's, sawed-off shotguns, and very poor english accents kidnap a teacher and her seven students for ransom. Now most children that I know would be choking on their tongues in this situation. Not these little bastards. They go around singing, playing, and eating sammiches  all day long.

In the end, the children are turned into savage killers who kill only so they can crack a smile at their mutilated victims. The last scene shows organs sitting in jars in the classroom.

I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Let's just say I never really liked the first one very much either.

The fat kid (Augustus) was pretty funny though :P

I saw Hostel on Saturday. My advice to you: Don't see Hostel :P

I think I set my expectations too high though. I heard that critics had actually become sick while viewing this film so I was ready for some messed up footage :( I was fairly disappointed.

Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward for X-men 3.

I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain, but one of the best conversations I've ever had was with an elderly woman about that movie.

She said:
"It's about two cowboys who are.....you know.....that way."

I was in tears as she was describing the tent scene.

"I have a nephew like that, and now I tense up when I hug him because all I can think about is him all sweaty and rolling around with his......you know......friend."

I love learning about the views of the other generations :D

That was the last movie I saw in the theater too. I enjoyed it, but then I went in with no expectations whatsoever. Also we were pretty much the only ones in the theater, so we could do pretty much whatever we wanted during the movie. ;)

The two movies I saw before that were King Kong and Narnia. Both were freakin incredible!!!!

last good dvd i bought was The Man Who Fell To Earth. starring David Bowie and Rip Torn. Its the Criterion collection so the box set was worth every penny of the 42.00 i spent on it. it even comes with the novel!
