Should I go to the doctor?

Yesterday I was putting up Christmas lights on the roof. When I was done, I jumped off the roof (like any sane person would do), and hurt my left ankle in the fall.
The ankle is barely swollen at all, and there are no enormous bones sticking out of it, but it still hurts like a bitch! So I can't decide if it's just sprained or fractured. I have excellent health insurance, but I hate going to the doctor. Which should I do?

if you have health insurance then use it
at the very least you can make the pain go away

No, I never goto the doctor even when I fell off my bike years ago (I was about 14) Scraped my head on the road for about 10 yards, the handlebars fell on my head aswell.
Self diagnosed concussion and My headache was gone in a week

Don't be a pussy, take the pain, drugs are shit.

Yeah C O ankle pain sucks
I remember once

I was running from these bull dike biker chicks{dikes on bikes MC}My friends and i dinned and dashed at this Dennys resturant. It so happend that are waitress sister was a dike on bikes chick. They saw us escaping from there booth, and started for us

There was ten or so of them,I jumped a wall sprained my ankle but didn`t make a sound

Knowing the big fat ugly dike chicks would have my dick on a spit

My friends got away and everything was good.
No Doc needed, when your young shit heals fast

I was 16 at the time

I can't imagine having Christmas lights
with snow.
I don't care about the pain... my tolerance is pretty high. I don't want the bone to fuse back together improperly if it's fractured. Anyway, it hurts much less now and I can move it a lot better. I'll wait another day and then see.

I voted "No" simply because the poll lacks the "wait and see" option. It's what I would do if the pain was bearable.
However, the safe thing to do would be to see a doctor, but I hate going to the office as well

Go to the doctor. When I got hit by a car last November, I got some painkillers for my back, and vikaden for my ankle. (It was only a sprain BTW, but I couldn't walk for 2 months so meh).

I would suggest going to the doctor. You can fracture your ankle and still be able to walk on it just fine. When I was younger I ended up fracturing mine and my parents just figured it was a sprain. It ended up healing incorrectly and so now I have problems with it. Better safe than sorry.

Well my ankle feels great now. Occasionally it hurts if I bend it a too far, but I can move it completely.
Another fine example of my stupidity... on Saturday I played broomball on the ice, which is pretty demanding for ankles considering all the sliding and balancing.

I never had any ankle problems, but my thumb did get nicely bashed in from some idiot who was high-sticking. I'm a lucky man. I can live with a busted ankle and a busted thumb, but I dont know what I'd do if one of my vital UT fingers was messed up.

I'm glad to hear that your ankle is OK, CO
However, my thumb is so important to UT! It changes my weapons, it crouches, and it says, "Roger that."
It's indispensable
(Unless it's your mouse thumb. What a useless hand appendage that is!

jk jk thumbs are the best.)

Yeah it's my mouse (right) thumb. The only it can really press is a button that's not assigned to anything in UT, but pops up this annoying window that causes UT to minimize every time I accidentally hit it.
All my left thumb does is make me jump.
