Get UTR!!

Post by special_Kare » Mon Dec 19, 2005 9:42 pm

The day has finally come.:toker: :toast: :rockrock: :toast: :rockrock:

I have been waiting for this mod for a while now, here's a brief description :D
UTR ALPHA RELEASED
The UTR mod development team proudly presents the Alpha preview release of the first full-conversion of Unreal Tournament Game of The Year Edition to Unreal Engine 2.5 (aka UT2004): Unreal Tournament Revolution. UTR Alpha Release has the core features and gameplay in, and aims to be a solid base upon which we can tweak and upgrade with the help of the UT community to become the true continuation of the legend that began it all. Combining the vastly improved netplay and visual features of UT2004 with the classic feel and atmosphere, UTR Alpha Release includes the return of such weapons as the Dual Enforcers, Impact Hammer, and Ripper. Our upgraded Flak Cannon should also give you a small taste of what is being planned for the Beta stages...

Second, install 'ECE Bonus Pack' from here>>http://downloads.unrealadmin.org/UT2004 ... ack1-1.exe

Third, install UTR from here, and be sure to read the directions within the .txt file very carefully!>>>>http://levi.teamspeak.org/dl/redirect.php?fileid=1572

UT2003 has better "visual features" imo, 2004 is an insult to a decent series of games :?

Nope, and UT2004 is just too small, the chars look small, the vehicles look small, everthing it too damn small, the maps are boring and empty, it's just a below average FPS, that's why I uninstalled it may aswell bin the dvd

Yeah, what could be more below average than this?

Compare to these:

BTW, I dont know if you explored the game at all, but you can play 2k4 as an almost identical game to 2003. (same maps and everything) But with the additions of onslaught, assault, etc...

I remember when I was buying 2k4, I was tempted to buy 2k3 along with it because they offered a $10 rebate to anyone that already owned 2003. I decided against it when I found out that 2k4 already included the entire 2k3 game. The $10 rebate was pretty much just their way of saying. "Sorry, we fucked up with 2003, but here's $10 back to cover the content that you already paid for with 2003."

Gamespot always overrates mainstream games, just like any other big site or magazine.
UT2004 doesn't do the UT series justice IMO and in the opinion of plenty of people, it just doesnt feel right, the weps are boring and the gameplay is just  :?

UT2004 doesn't do the original UT justice, but it kicks the pants off of 2003 (for the reasons that I already stated) So remind me... what was the topic of this thread?

That's right, it was about converting UT2004 to be like the original!!!

Settled arguments, such as this one, prove that court cases can be practiced entirely on the internet. It's only a matter of time  .

Uh, that would really depend WHICH celeron series. Celerons are just PN cpus with cache reduced, a 2ghz celeron is goingto kick the crap out of a 500mhz p3

cmon now...you're getting all technical for no reason, the comparison is a plain ol' celeron versus a plain ol' p3  by plain ol' i mean under 1ghz
