The original post was by me, but I was accidentally logged in under the {qoou} account.
In all seriousness, I really am saddened by Steve's death. He took a lot of crap from people because of his enthusiasm, but all Steve really wanted to do in life was help animals. I watched a couple Croc Hunter specials on Animal Planet a few days ago, and throughout them Terri talked about how Steve would be around for a long time, and Steve talked about how special it would be when the day came that he would pass his legacy on to his kids, just as his father had done with him.
It's amazing how life can be cut short when we least expect it. Steve played with crocs and poisonous snakes for years, and in the end what got him was a docile stingray. Yeah, his life was cut short, but I'll bet he lived a far more complete life than any of us ever will.
Whether you liked Steve or not, he made the world a better place. Steve helped enormously (and is still helping) with conservation, protecting animal rights, and educating the public. He wasnt selfish like so many other celebrities... Steve donated all the profits from his movie to conservation. Really, Steve Irwin was an ordinary guy with extraordinary passion, and for that I'll miss him.
You and the Cap'n make it happen!
