I really miss unreal

Havn't been around for a while. usually play in mostly in winter cause dont have the high speed connect in summer.
But cant get on. Comp crashed and got a new one. My old version of unreal doesn't seem to work properly and can't download the updates because it's too old. bought a newer versoin for 50 bucks and it won't even load

Can't download patches. Seems my version is too old. I have the best of the year edition. I need a patch to bring it up to where I can download a patch. So I bought the 2005 edition and it will not load at all

went to the qoou server and it won't work

That doesn't seem feasible. I have the Game of the Year addition and it's all up to speed. I updated by downloading one patch. from the http://unrealtournament.com website.

Thanks. I was going to the wrong places. I went to the link from the software. It would not work from there and there.
Got the patch. Was able to go to the server but my unreal is still not working properly. It freezes and shakes from time to time while I'm running around.
Maybe it's my new comp ? maybe I need to install unreal again ?

make sure you have the latest video drivers for your video card, also make sure you have the latest directX. should be 9c

Change to software rendering - it'll be shit grafics but it'll work for now until you get your video drivers updated.

I tried all that. Nothing seems to work. Just went to the server and phantom and theone were there. They saw it. It's pretty wierd.
when I try to run it will stop and shake for a while then let me go for about a second then it will stop and shake again. Everything is going way too fast too.
Can't read the messages from people because they leave the screen so fast. Everything is in fast motion.

I dont know how because I didn't do anything new ; but I was able to get on and play relatively normally with only a few glitches. The biggest glitch is I suck after six months of not playing

LOL Only time can fix that glitch.

I get the "Cannot find assault bonus pack" error too with some maps, but I usually just wait for those maps to end and then rejoin. I'd take the time to fix the error if all the maps that require the bonus pack didn't suck horribly.

yes , I reinstalled it three times before I came here , but I did not reinstall it after installing the patch and the driver update and lowering the qualtiy of the video.
One of those seems to have worked .. mostly ; but it took it's time. I restarted many times before it started working. Of course I am clueless as to what actually happened.

I sucked pretty bad six months ago. now I'm hopeless

but it's still fun.

Thanks for the help. It worked for a while but when I go to the server by myself it goes right back to freezing and shaking and going to fast.

I guess I have to reinstall again and start over with the update. Hope it works

be sure that AFTER you uninstall through control panel>add/remove programs, that you MANUALLY DELETE the UNREALTOURNAMENT folder cause windows is stupid and doesnt delete it for you sometimes.
